I sporadically release more-or-less melancholy synthesizer music on Bandcamp as Clown School Dropout, a name inspired by Nuar Alsadir's book Animal Joy. I created the opening theme and interstitial music used on the Infinite Library podcast, and I also do the music and all the other editing for the Gamers with Glasses Show

When the big solar eclipse swept through Indiana, we took it as an opportunity to flex our newly developed audio storytelling skills, telling the story of the art and science of eclipses from ancient Greece to the twentieth century. Unfortunately I had to watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for this, but everything else was great. 

An Electro-Acoustic Journey into the Heart of Parenting

In 2020-2021, as part of a desperate bid to keep my six-year-old son entertained in a one-bedroom apartment during quarantine, I gave him my handheld recorder to play with. Revisiting these recordings a few years later made me realize that the sounds of parenting are so precious in ways that we often overlook. I got a weird menagerie of instruments together and, using those recordings as a base, tried to fit some of my feelings about those sounds into an album.

I thought it would be fun to put all the electronic instrumentals that I did for the Legendary Christmas albums together in one place, as a way to bid adieu to this project.
